๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป About Me

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹ I’m Lynsey – the one that’s behind the suitcase!

I love, love, love travelling and seeing new places. In my opinion, there’s not a lot better in life than packing a suitcase and heading off on new adventures, big and small!

I’m also a pretty keen self-taught amateur photographer and you’ll find that my blogs are filled with photos – each one my own.

5 ‘About Me’ facts:

1. My star-sign is Sagittarius – ‘the traveller’ – pretty apt really. I’ve loved reading about star-signs since I was little so it’s only right that my one and only tattoo is my star sign symbol.

2. I am scared witless of frogs, toads and lizards! It’s true that this doesn’t make going to some holiday destinations easy. I’m just glad that I don’t have a fear of flying! What could be worse?

3. Auto-transport me to anywhere in the world and I’d have to ask for Florida. Yes, I know, it’s a cliche – but I’ve have lost count now on how many times I’ve been – it’s like home from home, but with gorgeous sunshine and far superior burgers!

4. I’m stranded on a desert island. I take (1) My smartphone for photographs (2) A hammock filled with chocolate and booze and (3) Reptile Repellent!

5. I’m having a dinner party. My 5 guests are (1) Jake Gyllenhaal (2) Sarah Jessica Parker (3) Melissa McCarthy (4) Captain Tom and (5) Rex from Toy Story.

Some tips if you’re thinking of starting your own blog

1. Brand yourself smartly: Really think hard about what you want to call your blog. Seriously, you donโ€™t want to spend just ten minutes conjuring something up like I did. If people are going to find you on Google, you donโ€™t want to find yourself twenty pages down, overshadowed by some low-budget 1961 girl-meets-boy movie. Be unique, be quirky, be searchable, be memorable. This is even more important if you have paid for a domain name like I did.

2. What are you writing about? We are firmly in quarantine mode right now, so a travel blog might not be the best idea if you want to get going straight away (plus itโ€™s a bit overcrowded with the likes of little old me, all with our own stories to tell and photos to share). If you are a culinary genius, a skilled DIY-er, the funniest person you know or someone with something the world wants to hear, what are you waiting for? Get blogging. Get vlogging. Get going!

A look back over my first few yearsโ€ฆ

The great thing about starting up a personal blog is that you usually have some content stored away in your head and on your camera roll already, making it super-easy to get up and running. I have been lucky to visit lots of great places over the years – and certainly pre-Covid. It’s a nice little hobby.

Once again, thank you for choosing to visit my page! If you like what you see, please ‘like’ and ‘sign up’ to receive all of my blogs before anyone else does!
