I wanted to take the opportunity to capture the city of Manchester sitting still whilst under lockdown during the the Coronavirus pandemic.
The photographs that follow were all taken by me on Friday 22 May 2020.
Whereas only a few months ago, Manchester would have been filled with workers, commuters, tourists and those out for a good weekend, today it lay dormant with barely a soul around.
The usual sound of noisy traffic, shopping crowds and lively bars was replaced with the occasional drilling coming from a small building site, the wind blowing through the streets and – no word of a lie – seagulls.
The photographs tell the story themselves….
